I'm proud to announce that Pitfalls and Possibilities: A Leadership Fable was awarded 2nd Place/Silver in the Business category by the Colorado Independent Publishers Association. Not too shabby for my first book! Polly Letofsky, of My Word Publishing, shown above, and her team were crucial to my success and I was thrilled she was there at the award ceremony to help me celebrate this milestone in my career.
Pitfalls also received Bronze in the 2022 Axiom Business Book Awards (Leadership Fable category).
And finally, one judge with the 2021/ 2022 Writer's Digest Self-Published Book Awards wrote:
"There are a lot of books on leadership, and this is one of the best. Following the two leaders (Avery and Jon), the author fleshes out the difficulties and triumphs of leadership. This is a must read." A must read! I about fell over in my chair when I read that amazing endorsement!
If you're looking for a practical book to elicit meaingful discussion with the leaders in your organization, please consider adding Pitfalls & Possibilities to the reading list! My book is also an excellent choice as supplemental reading for your organization's leadership program - especially with the discussion questions at the end of each chapter. Told in a story format, the book addresses many common misunderstandings new supervisors have about leadership and gives context to important concepts such as delegation, coaching, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, constructive conversations, trust, and more.
Whether you're brand-new to leading a team or a seasoned professional, this book will help you avoid the pitfalls and focus on the possibilities of leadership.
